David Merrell is a Manager in StoneTurn’s Austin office.  He has significant experience consulting with clients and counsel in matters relating to complex commercial and intellectual property disputes.  He has provided consulting services to clients involving quantifying damages in commercial litigation, intellectual property disputes, and antitrust matters.  David has supported counsel at all stages of litigation from case evaluation to providing deposition, pre-trial, and trial support.  David also has extensive experience identifying, constructing, cleaning, standardizing, managing, and analyzing very large, sometimes proprietary, datasets.
 
David’s experience involves consulting projects in a broad range of industries including telecommunications, semiconductors, internet service providers, consumer payment cards, software, entertainment, nutritional supplements, and biotechnology.
 
David received his Bachelor of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy in economics from the University of Oklahoma.  David has served as a visitor on the economics faculty at UCLA and Carnegie Mellon University and as a staff research economist at the U.S. Census Bureau’s Center for Economic Studies.
